Inaugural overview lecture: Historical Background on the case for reparations concerning colonial violence in Algeria.
This mobilisation lab focused on France's colonial past in Algeria, with the goal of understanding the possibilities of engaging France's responsibility for colonial crimes and nuclear testing in Algeria.

Dr Kelly Picard examines the question of the legal responsibility of states for historical wrongs such as slavery and colonization. She introduces the concept of historical prejudice and its use in the legal arena, both nationally and internationally.
